Frequently Asked Questions

When do you open to the public? We will open in early Spring, March. We plan to stay open until Christmas.

What does my admission cover? Admission covers a visit to our chrysalis room to view and learn the lifecycle of a butterfly including live pupa. From there, you can visit our butterflies in the conservatory. Chrysalis are brought in weekly and you may see different species at each visit. Then, you can frolic among the 100's of butterflies visiting the gardens. You are welcome to stay as long as you like, most guests stay for about 2 hours.

How much are tickets? Tickets purchased online are $8 - Adults $6 - Children (under 3, free) $7 - Seniors (62+) & Military Ticket prices are $1 more at the farm if they are not purchased online. For more information, visit our Admission Info page by clicking here.

What if I have a large group that wants to come? Groups are considered 15+ and we like to reserve time slots on Weds and Thurs for groups. Please send an email with the number of guests and preferred date so we can check our availability.

Is the farm pet friendly? We love dogs and they are allowed on a leash at the farm, however they are not allowed in the greenhouse. Someone in your party may stay outside of the greenhouse with your furry family member.

Do you sell butterflies or butterfly kits? We will have kits this season. Please keep checking our website and social media accounts for updates, or sign up for our mailing list to be notified when they arrive. We do not currently sell live butterflies for releases.

Do you sell any flowers/plants? Yes, we do sell them! We will be transitioning into only native plants in the future. Most of what we have are host plants for caterpillars and butterflies, but please send an email if you are looking for something specific, or stop by the farm to check them out.

Do you host private events/rent the space? Yes! Absolutely. We've alreayd had one wedding and several private parties at the farm. Please send us an email request with what you are looking for and we will get back to you shortly. Send it to: info@dahlonegabutterfly.com

Can we eat lunch there? We do not offer food. However, we do have snacks and drinks for sale. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to eat in the garden or in our picnic area.

What if it rains & we have a ticket for that day? We love rain! It nourishes our garden and butterflies. We stay open in the rain and our greenhouse is enclosed. Rain checks will only be given if we close due to unforseen circumstances or an emergency.

Is the farm wheelchair accessible? The gift shop and the greenhouse are paved and a short walk on a flat surface. The rest of the farm is fairly flat but paths have gravel or dirt.

If your questions do not appear on this list, please email us at info@dahlonegabutterfly.com and we'll be happy to help.
